Message from Superintendent Stephanie Keuhey

As Superintendent of Mineral County School District, I have the great honor of leading a school system that has shaped not only my career but also my heart. For over two decades, I have served this district—as a teacher, principal, and now superintendent. These roles have deepened my understanding of the strengths and needs of our schools and affirmed my belief in the power of community-centered leadership.

Mineral County is not just where I work—it’s my home. The students, families, staff, and community members here are the reason I remain committed to making our schools stronger every day. My approach is rooted in relationships, driven by equity, and focused on results. Every action we take as a district must support a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment where students are known, challenged, and supported.

Our current District Strategic Plan, Where Stars Are Aligning, reflects this commitment. Developed with broad stakeholder input, the plan guides our work across four core priorities:

• Academics

• Culture

• Accountability

These priorities shape how we invest in instruction, support staff and students, strengthen family partnerships, and maintain transparency and trust within the community. We are especially focused on increasing access to high-quality, grade-level instruction; expanding supports through MTSS and PBIS; improving attendance and engagement; and ensuring all students are prepared for college, career, and life.

Picture a community that stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when a group of dedicated individuals comes together to create a brighter future. That is the vision that drives our work—and it is one we will bring to life through intentional action, collective leadership, and shared purpose.

I believe in the talent and dedication of our educators, the resilience of our students, and the shared responsibility we all have in shaping the future. As we move forward, our actions will remain aligned with our vision to ensure every student in Mineral County School District thrives.
